| Who manages Tasplan
Tasplan is jointly sponsored by the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and Unions Tasmania, and is managed by a Trustee Company, Tasplan Ltd (ABN 13 009 563 062).
The Board of the Trustee Company comprises an equal number of employer and employee representatives nominated by the sponsoring organisations. The Board includes representation from the former boards of the NSW bus & coach and transport sector industry funds. The Board is responsible for all decisions concerning the management of the Fund.
Tasplan is a 'profit for members' fund and does not pay any agents' fees, commissions or dividends. Directors receive a nominal payment for their role on the Trustee Board.
Tasplan is a "regulated fund" under the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993. This means that Tasplan can accept Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contributions and rollovers from other complying funds and attracts concessional tax treatment. Tasplan is also a Public Offer fund, meaning anyone can join irrespective of their employment status.
