Investment Unitisation
Your super account is invested in one or a combination of the five investment options that Tasplan offers. Previously Tasplan applied a positive or negative crediting rate to reflect the investment performance of those investment options.
As at 31 March 2010 Tasplan unitised your investment holdings. This means your investment will show a number of units, a unit price and an investment value. The investment value is the units multiplied by the unit price. The unit price is calculated each Friday. The investment performance is recognised by either an increase or decrease in the unit price which, when multiplied by the number of units means your investment value will move up or down.
This method allows for a weekly update of your account balance inclusive of investment performance rather than waiting for your annual statement in October each year. Most importantly our investment approach has not changed.
Detailed information on the conversion to unitisation is available in the Investment Unitisation Fact Sheet.
