Tasplan's Balanced investment option has credited a double digit return for the second year in a row.
Tasplan General Manager, Neil Cassidy believes that. in terms of the cost and administrative burden associated with new superannuation laws - the last twelve months has been a 'stinker' for business.
There are nearly 95,000 Tasplan members with their superannuation invested in the Balanced option - which has recorded an 11.9 percent return. The Longer Term and Equities Options have achieved returns of 12.9 percent and 15.8 percent respectively.
According to General Manager Neil Cassidy, this strong result complements the excellent double digit returns achieved by these investment options last year.
"Tasplan's Balanced investment option has earned 8.4 &percnt compound interest after fees and taxes over the past ten years." Cassidy said.
"The major reason for such strong returns over the past two years, has been the continued excellent performance of the sharemarket - particularly Australian shares." Cassidy said.
The Tasplan returns compare favourably with industry benchmarks and come a week after the Fund was named amongst Tasmania's top private companies in the latest BRW Top 500 Private Companies list for 2005.
