How to set up salary sacrifice

First, make sure the amount you want to contribute is within the limits:

Under 50 $25,000 per year
Over 50 $50,000 per year

  • Talk to your employer about Salary Sacrificing to super;
  • Sign a Salary Sacrifice Agreement with your employer;
  • Make sure your employer's 9% contribution will be based on your gross salary not your reduced salary after deduction of the salary sacrifice component; and

How to set up co-contribution

First, check you are eligible to make a personal contribution to Tasplan.

If you can say “yes” to these criteria, it’s on.

 

  • Have total income of less than $61,920 in the financial year from all income sources, and
  • Derive more than 10% of your total income from eligible employment, and
  • Not hold an eligible temporary resident visa at any time during the year, and
  • Lodge an income tax return for the year of income, and
  • Be under the age of 71 at the end of the year of income.

 

Next, send us your contribution. There are 5 ways.

 

  1. Logon to Tasplan member access and get a BPay code for online payment.
  2. Authorised Bank Transfer an amount each month from a nominated bank account. Print out the Authorised Bank Transfer Form.
  3. Check with your employer to find out if they allow payroll deduction of personal contributions. The employer will then remit them to Tasplan on your behalf.
  4. EFT your contribution to Tasplan. Please ring 1800 005 166 for the details. Then email info@tasplan.com.au or post confirmation of the contribution to Tasplan.
  5. Send us a cheque anytime, together with your membership details, to Tasplan, GPO Box 1547, Hobart, Tasmania 7001.

 

How your co-contribution is paid:


  • Make your payment by June 30,
  • Tasplan reports all payments to the Australian Tax Office by October,
    (The ATO then matches our records with your income tax return to determine if you're eligible),
  • The ATO generally makes a co-contribution payment around December or January,
  • Depending on when the ATO makes their payment, your co-contribution payment will be listed on your next statement.
