TASPLAN named Tasmania’s biggest company, again.

For the second year in a row, local Industry super fund TASPLAN, has been named Tasmania’s largest company (in terms of revenue) in the latest BRW list of Australia’s top 500 private companies*.

Tasplan was ranked 146th in the top 500 list and edged out other well known Tasmanian firms. This compares to a ranking of 164th last year and 498th in 2009’s list.

TASPLAN CEO, Neil Cassidy, said the recognition of the BRW listing is very pleasing, given it has been achieved with 13 staff.

“We’re a profits-to-members fund and run a very lean operation, we have to, so this result is acknowledgement of the great job our staff do in what has been a very uncertain period.

“We believe this approach and our investments in Tasmanian infrastructure and jobs result in sound long-term returns for members, coupled with positive ongoing benefits for Tasmania.

“We fly under the radar to a certain extent, given super is not paramount in people’s minds, but this result is good news for our members and the state,” Mr Cassidy said.
