Changes to super rules from 1 July 2017

With the end of the financial year fast approaching, it’s important to be aware of changes to super rules, many of which apply from 1 July.

Will the changes affect you?

You may be affected by the super changes if you …

  • or your spouse earn less than $40,000 each year
  • are approaching retirement
  • earn over or close to $250,000 each year
  • work part-time or have taken time out of the workforce
  • make extra contributions to your super

If any of the above apply, you can find further details about these changes on the ATO website.

If you’d like personal advice as a result of these changes, you can organise an appointment with a Tasplan financial expert by emailing us or by calling 1800 005 166. Advice you receive about your Tasplan super can be paid for out of your Tasplan account, so it won’t affect your take-home pay.

If you’d prefer more general advice on your Tasplan account, you can arrange a free appointment with one of our helpful Member Services Consultants by simply emailing us or calling us on 1800 005 166.
